Job Summary
The Foreman of the Direct Supply Support Activity (DSSA) Manages the day-to-day operations, including coordinating the activities of employees performing distribution functions (attainment, property accountability, financial forecasting, requisition management, requisition expediting and disposing of equipment and supplies) in direct support of the Department Of The Army.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Trains computer functions applicable to Global Combat Support System – Army System (GCSS-Army).
- All training for employees to include GCSS-ARMY refreshers and AR-710-2.
- Directs the Performance preventive maintenance and services on computer systems.
- Accountability for all input, maintains a daily shift log of all events occurring on the shift, and verifies the accuracy of output to include legibility and completeness.
- Reports all scheduled processes within established time frames.
- Gathers and prepares statistical reports for Government entities.
- Complies with requirements and standards of appropriate regulations, directives, and technical manuals; safety, environmental, and quality standards; and applicable COPs/DOPs.
- Prepairs/Supports/participates in the company QA Program.
- Has “stop work authority” if a safety or potential safety situation occurs.
- Favorably interacts with internal / external customers and ensuring employees are offering the best service.
- Complies with all Company rules, policies, and procedures to include ensuring all employees are under the same guidlines.
- Preforms/ Directs/ Mentors and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training.
- Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required or necessary.
- Responsible for employees relations and accountability to include time cards, ADP, Certifications, compliance updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have a clear understanding of all Microsoft applications, specifically EXCEL.
- Must have a working GCSS-A knowledge of storage, receiving, issue, turn in, Forward Distribution Points (FDP) and inventory functions.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must complete all mandatory business operations and safety-related training courses (HAZCOM, Defensive Driver Course (DDC), 2-10K Forklift
- Must have completed all GCSS-A Training and Certification Program (GTRAC) training (Wave 1 and Wave 2) (SSA Operations)
- Must be able to maintain a position of Public Trust
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
Experience & Education
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credit, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
- Five (5) years of progressive work experience in a logistics operations support environment.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Must be a US Citizen. Proof required.
- At least six (6) months hands on GCSS-A experience in inventory management.
- Must have completed all GCSS-A Training and Certification Program (GTRAC) training in SSA Operations
- Asosiates Degree or equivalent
- Preferred experiencewith Union members and knowledge of the Collective Bargenging Agreements
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Individual must be able to perform required duties, and wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Individual must be able to lift/move 45 lbs without assistance and up to 130 lbs with assistance.
- Able to meet criteria of DA PAM 611-21 and AR 601-210.
- Individual must be physically capable of performing the work in extreme temperatures, low humidity, blowing sand and dust.
- Individual may be required to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- May be required to work under stressful circumstances and meet short suspenses.
- Job may require operating at heights above ten (10) feet but not more than thirty (30) feet.
- Must have a Valid California Driver’s License. Non-California residents must obtain the proper California Driver’s License within 10 days of beginning work.
- Must be able to work double shift with short notice
- Must be able to work some holidays
