Job Summary
The Tactical Vehicle Mechanic performs FMC + Safety verifications, determines repair parts required, performs mechanical maintenance actions and repairs on various tactical vehicles, commercial vehicles, and equipment. The Tactical Vehicle Mechanic mentors and enhances the performance of co-workers and other personnel.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Performs and FMC + Safety verifications, and determines repair parts required and performs mechanical maintenance action and repairs on various tactical wheeled vehicles and equipment and their sub-systems IAW appropriate procedures and publications, and validates the work performed by others
- Effectively communicates with customers while conducting off site FMC + safety verifications during both Issue and Regeneration cycles
- Generates and/or maintains both physical and electronic log books and records
- Required to participate in various on-the-job and cross-training where required
- Responsible for meeting the 95% regulatory and contract individual productivity requirement
- Ensures all work is performed correctly the first time per technical manuals and other publication
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance actions on various materials and handling equipment such as but not limited to: various types and sizes of forklifts (4k to 10k), heavy equipment transport trucks and trailers
- Performs diagnostic tests, using measuring devices, instruments, test equipment, special tools and lifting devices, to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling system failures IAW appropriate procedures and publications
- Operates/ tests various types of equipment, and attached systems IAW appropriate procedures and publications
- Repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems and components, on equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications
- Removes, repairs, and replaces engine, drive train and body components of vehicles and equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications
- Prepares, maintains, and completes logs, records, and all RSOI packets, etc. equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications
- Ensures work areas meet contract and Company housekeeping requirements in that: the work area is leaned-out and only necessary equipment is present; the necessary equipment is set-in-place per the shop's standardization plan; and shined daily. Performs clean-up no earlier than 15 minutes before shift end unless otherwise directed
- Supports/ participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA program
- Mentors and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training
- Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required and necessary
- Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures
- Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable other SOPs
- Mitigates risk by always: wearing appropriate PPE; using ground guides when required; properly PMCSs all equipment; wearing seat belts when operating a vehicle; obeying speed limits; properly disposing and storing hazardous materiel; using three points of contact when required; and adequately stretch as needed
- Maintains accountability and provides proper care of all property and government furnished equipment

Knowledge & Skills

Experience & Education
- Must have two and one-half (2 ½) years verifiable experience in inspection, repair, and maintenance on combat/tactical wheeled vehicles and their sub-systems/ MKT unit/ various trailers/ various generators and other equipment,
or
- Must have two and one-half (2 ½) years verifiable experience in inspection, repair, and maintenance on Civilian semitruck tractors and trailers and heavy-duty construction type equipment is included,
or
- ASE Certified on power and drive train, brakes, electrical and fuel systems with two and one-half (2 ½) years verifiable maintenance experience (lubrication tasks not included)
- Relevant experience must include at least six (6) months experience in the current position except when employees are promoting to a higher rated position
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Principal Accountabilities

- Operates logistical tactical vehicles to include Palletize Loading System (PLS) six wheel drive, Tractor trailers (six wheel drive), HEMMT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck)(8 wheel drive) recovery vehicles, HEMMT(8 wheel drive) fuel tankers, 5 ton Cargo (6 wheel drive) trucks.
- Operates tactical vehicles in simulated combat conditions across rough terrain within the tactical environment both day and night.
- Operates tactical vehicles during night conditions with white lights, black-out drive, and night vision goggle operations as mission requires.
- Performs operator level preventive maintenance checks and services on tactical vehicles in accordance with applicable technical manuals and before / during / after check lists (Fuel, water, oil, tires, lights, brakes, wiper blades, cleanliness and etc.)
- Operates tactical radios or telephones to communicate with the base station and other vehicles in accordance with proper radio communications protocol.
- Maintains compliance with all pertinent dispatch and en route reporting procedures (by documentation, radio or telephone). Immediately reports accidents / delays / incidents.
- Operates tactical vehicles in a safe, efficient manner and complies with DOT vehicle regulations,
- NTC Range Control rules, NTC Rules of Engagement and NTC, FORSCOM & Army regulations.
- Driver is responsible for positioning and securing all loads to provide safe and undamaged delivery of cargo over rough terrain. and for possessing proper documentation for cargo
- Operates and uses basic hand tools, binders, chains, tie down straps, chock blocks, timber blocks, cables, jacks, stands lift gates
- Performs emergency en route repairs and recovery as required in a simulated tactical environment. Operators will conduct self recovery operations utilizing on board winch systems.
- Operators will become proficient with wrecker operations for tactical field recovery missions in simulated combat conditions.
- Picks up and delivers various types of cargo and equipment to field locations within the tactical environment as well as locations within and outside of the NTC operating environment.
- Operators will be proficient with self refueling and trans-loading of fuels and water.
- Performs clean-up duties and polices the areas as assigned
- Operators will be required to perform mission on short notice and take breaks when mission requirements allow.
- Operators will be required to load, transport, unload and explosives, live ammunition, and pyrotechnics in a simulated combat environment across and in rough terrain.
- Combination of Vehicle, with T-Doubles/Triples, X-Combined Tanker/Haz-Mat endorsements.

Job Summary
The Tool Room Attendant maintains the daily operation of the tool room and related components to include, but not limited to the following: Orders, receives, issues and turn-in of unserviceable tools. Responsible for change of custody and quarterly tool room inventories. Submit through calibration, special and calibrated tools as scheduled, to maintain a within use tolerance status. Orders through the supply system and maintains shop supplies / materials for daily operations.
Principal Accountabilities
- Issues, receives, orders, turns in of unserviceable tools, stores maintains tools and tool room per DA PAM 710-2
- Performs cyclic inventories of tools and equipment issued from the tool room
- Performs tool box inventories as required for issuing and turn-in for employees.
- Submits items as directed to calibration and returns them to the tool room as completed
- Order shop supplies through the supervisor (rags, paper towels, soap, etc.)
- Performs clean-up duties and polices the shop areas as assigned

Job Summary
The Woodworker will pack, crate and fabricate wooden items as specified according to the IAW work order requirements in support of packing and shipping operations.
Principal Accountabilities
- Receiving Material:
- Ensure that material destined for shipment is clean prior to acceptance
- Verify accuracy of DD Form 1348-a or DD Form 1149, and accompanying documentation to the material being shipped
- Verification of quantity, nomenclature, national stock number (NSN), condition code (CC), unit of issue, and otter pertinent data
- Immediately contact the DPW Environmental Division and the AO, upon receipt of HAZMAT, for special instructions regarding handling storage, and shipment of unusual out of the norm HAZAMT items
- Validate preservation, packaging, and shipping requirements for items to be shipped
- Segregate and stage material by priority
- Prepare Material for shipment
- Preserve, package, palletize and stage with applicable mandatory publications. Outbound, Automatic Return Items (ARIs)
- Package and stage Non-ARIs designated for retrograde to depot within three workdays after scheduling
- Preserve, package, and stage Non-ARI material for shipment
- Package and stage Non-ARIs according to transportation priority within three (3) workdays after receipt of an MRO
- Package Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS) items for shipment or storage
- Process all weapons for packing and shipping the same day of Shipment IAW AR 1901-11, 190-51
- Pack, crate, weigh, palletize and band material for shipment IAW current requirements
- Stencil containers with cube, dimensions, and shipment weigh IAW current requirements
- Assist with processing and sending POL samples within 48 working hours upon receiving the samples
- Assist with completing DD Form 1348-1, DD Form 1149 and other documents, as needed to complete standards
- Date and sign completed documents
- Comply with special documentation, packaging and shipping requirements for HAZMAT in accordance with applicable mandatory publications, and specific instructions from the DPW Environmental Division
- Packaging Material:
- Utilize to the maximum extent possible available metal, wood, and fiberboard reusable
- Make the maximum possible use if reusable cushionable shipping boxes
- Inspect and identify packaging materials as either serviceable or unserviceable, and segregate
- Establish and maintain a spate storage facility for serviceable packing materials
- Segregate, refurbish and store usable packing material
- Fabricate wooden crates and pallets for shipment of material in instances where prefabricated, serviceable wooden crates and pallets are not available
- Construct and repair containers, wooden pallets, and wooden and fiberboard containers to meet applicable military standards and specifications contained in mandatory publications as follows: AR 700-15, 700-141 and 700-143; DA –AM PAM 700-32 and 700-48; FM 38-700 and 38-701; TC 38-3; Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 (CFR-49)
- Repack and stencil repaired containers. Stencil material designated for shipment in accordance with IAW TM 38-230 Volumes 1 & 2.
- Perform packing using foam-in-place technique when required
- Transfer and dispose of unneeded packing materials. Comply with instructions from the DPW environmental Division regarding the transfer and disposal if packing materials
- Shipping Material:
- Receive CBL instructions from Documentation Clerk, load pre-stage material onto outbound carrier as directed by the Chief Transportation Division. If material is not pre-staged, find processed material in designated area that is marked for outbound shipment
- Fabricate, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
- Complete required documentations and reports.
- Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures.
- Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable COPs and DOPs
- Perform all other duties assigns as they relate to packing and shipping operations.

Job Summary
The Mechanic Lead is responsible for training, leading, and mentoring a team of mechanics. The Mechanic Lead is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Preposistioned (PREPO) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) on contract. The Mechanic Lead is responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment’s diagnostic test, using measuring devices, instruments, test equipment, special tools and lifting devices, to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems failures IAW appropriate procedures and publications. Principal Accountabilities
- Performs FMC + Safety verifications and determines repair parts required and performs mechanical maintenance action and repairs on PREPO/GFE equipment and equipment and their sub-systems IAW appropriate procedures and publications, and validates the work performed by others
- Effectively communicates with customers while conducting off site FMC + safety verifications during both Issue and Regeneration cycles
- Performs Technical Inspections (TI) on various PREPO/GFE equipment and equipment and their sub-systems meeting any of the following criteria: coming onto the contract; leaving the contract; being transfer to LRC; being returned from LRC
- Generates reports and documentation necessary for processing ECODs IAW appropriate procedures and publications
